The Joy Project

Here’s a glimpse of what went on during The Joy Project 2011:

  • A combined 46 care packages and backpacks were distributed to the homeless on the streets of OKC.
  • 500 meals served at the City Rescue Mission
  • 16 care packages sent to Afghan soldiers
  • A combined total of 8 teams sent out to repair and clean the homes of senior adults in the community as well as a wife of a deployed soldier.
  • A loaded box truck was sent to the Clawson Cottage of the Children’s Hope Program at the Baptist Children’s Home:
  • 16 boxes and baskets filled with a wide variety of necessary items including shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, 100 Christian based books and Bible studies, 10 Bibles, a computer, games, clothing, bedding, household items, and $300 in cash and gift cards.
  • Dozens of supplies including 48 NIV Bibles and gospel tracts sent to the young people at the Children’s Justice Center
  • Potluck Christmas lunch provided and prayer requests taken for seniors at the Mustang senior citizens center.
  • Dozens of Christmas goodies given out at the Mustang Community Center.
  • $200 in cash donations, 100 pounds of food donations, 8 hours of volunteer labor and 12,000 meals prepared at the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank.
  • Christmas gifts provided for the families of 3 deployed soldiers of the 45th Infantry Division
  • A variety of much needed supplies and a Christmas party was provided for the nurses and residents at the Rylyn Meacham Center in OKC.
  • A love offering and Christmas treats were provided for a disabled senior adult in the community.
  • Dozens of sweaters, shirts, gloves and other essentials were delivered to over 40 residents at Boys Ranch Town in Edmond.
  • A pizza dinner, game night, and Gospel based magic show provided for 35 children and 12 adults at the Baptist Children’s Home.
  • 70 mugs of cocoa delivered to Arbor House in Mustang.
  • 40 elders were visited at a nursing home in Bethany.
  • Homebound members were visited by carolers.
  • 10 kids were ministered to at the City Rescue Mission by our youth.
  • Multiple Christmases provided for families in need.
  • Organized, cleaned, and sorted at the Mustang Pregnancy Center.
  • Approximately $7300 was given towards our global mission partnerships.
