Fellowship with other believers that is sincere, caring, and vulnerable is a high value here at FBC Mustang. Our adult small groups have three objectives: Edify one another as growing followers of Jesus Christ; Minister to one another when needs arise; and Multiply as believers as we share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those around us. Our classes are listed below. We’d love for you to visit one this Sunday!
Each week we gather at 6:30 pm to study scripture and how it can equip us to face current issues in our culture. In the past we have studied Tim Keller’s book The Prodigal God, David Platt’s book Radical, and spent a semester comparing world religions to Christianity. Beginning September 14th we will begin another Tim Keller study titled Gospel in Life. This study will last 8 weeks and requires a workbook available at the Information Center. Whether you are a woman that has visited us a few times, or a regular member of FBC Mustang, the Women’s Ministry Team wants you to know we take seriously the privilege of promoting your spiritual growth by encouraging the development of a deeper meaning of the person of Jesus Christ, and who you are in Him.
We faithfully offer sound doctrinal Bible studies, as well as events that focus on equipping you to better understand what being a Christ-centered woman is all about.
“For my determined purpose is that I may know Him—that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly …” Philippians 3:10 AMP
II Timothy 3:16-17 teaches us that God has given us His Word, the Bible, so “that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” There are three tiers to our men’s ministry: Annual Men’s retreat — Around the first weekend in April our men take a Friday evening and Saturday morning to get away for fellowship. This usually consists of eating terribly unhealthy food; playing basketball, horse shoes or golf; and spending time in corporate worship and bible study. Stay tuned for our 2012 Retreat. Periodic Breakfasts or Worship nights: Every so often our men will gather for the sake of fellowshipping with and challenging one another as disciples of Jesus Christ. Because the key to a man’s heart and mind is his stomach there will normally be food at these events. Accountability Groups: This is THE lifeblood of MIII. We strongly encourage our men to find three to five other men to meet with on a weekly basis for the purpose of bible study, scripture memory, prayer and accountability. The premise is it’s easy to go to a retreat and get motivated to make Christ the center of your life but if that’s all there is it’ll usually last a couple of weeks before returning to the same old rat race. Accountability groups will keep our men accountable, hence the name, in their faithfulness to Christ on a weekly basis. If you are not in an accountability group click here.
In an effort to help our members become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ we offer courses that teach us more about Him, His Word, and how following Christ is lived out in our day to day lives. Generally these classes are offered at 4:45 on Sundays and 6:30 on Wednesdays. Below are the classes offered this semester.
